Microcomputer-loaded Power Supply Unit

At Oki Power Tech Co., Ltd, in order to respond to the growing needs from our customers for multi-functional, high-performance power supply units, we have been exerting our efforts in developing technologies to enable the control of the power supply unit using a one-chip micro-computer. Having attained success, our next venture is to apply the new technologies gradually into our products with our further aim for advancement in manufacturing next generation type power supply units.

Single Microcomputer Carrying Multiple Functions
Single Microcomputer Carrying Multiple Functions

  • Power output ON/OFF sequence control
  • Output alarm detection(OVP,OCP,UVP)
  • Battry charge control
  • UPS control(backup function)
  • Low battery detection
  • Fan failure detection
  • Power supply unit longevity detection
  • Memory fuction to store data on operation time and failure records
  • Serial data communication made possible with computers

Actualization of Multi-functional / Low-cost Features

Control of the power supply unit, from its basic functional operation, UPS control during power failure, battery charge, and regulation of other output irregularities, the use of an exclusive IC is omitted; instead, its integrated control is actualized through the utilization of the Firm Ware technology imbedded in the micro-computer. Use of such technology has also enabled the achievement of additional ideal conditions such as lessened component requirements and low-cost performance (components curtailed by 20%, components mounting surface reduced by 60%).

Facilitated Maintenance Management

Through the self-diagnostic function, the power supply unit will detect its dysfunctional areas requiring repair as well as assess the conditions of its expendable parts requiring replacement. Through the utilization of this function, both facilitated maintenance and reduced management cost can be achieved.

Network Connection

By connecting to the computer using an RS-232C cable, the operating conditions and failure areas of the power supply unit can be easily analyzed. Further, the obtained data can be exchanged through e-mail using the internet. This feature is made convenient for analyzing its operating and quality conditions through remote access.

Customized-order Possible

Due to the basic operation of the power supply unit being program-controlled, specification alterations such as sequence modification and change in the setting of the over-current detection value can be expediently managed by just rewriting the program.
